MICHAEL L. STOCKHILL

PHOTOGRAPHY

Welcome! Michael L. Stockhill, currently a resident of Polson, Montana, after his retirement as a Senior Investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board, has had an interest in photography since his childhood in Whitefish and Kalispell. His first camera was a Roy Rogers model, and he remembers taking his black and white film to the Lacy Studio in Whitefish, Montana, for developing and printing. Working mostly now in color, he has found digital photography’s freedom to control the printing process to be liberating. While he has produced many air-to-air photographs for aviation magazines, the images he selected for this web page are mostly landscapes and abstract images from natural and man-made objects. The series of miniatures are highly cropped 35mm scans manipulated with Photoshop reminiscent of 19th Century paintings. New photographs were added 08.06.09. Images are available for purchase. Prices on request.
